Operators will need to assess risks biannually, and the project seeks to enhance the EU's collective response to supply crises, cyberattacks, and extreme weather. A new EU Alert mechanism will enable the declaration of regional or European alerts in case of substantial crisis risks. The proposal includes mandatory adjustments to energy consumption and emphasizes the importance of cooperation among member states to maintain stability in energy supply.
