UE suspendă o parte din ajutorul agricol european către Cehia din cauza unui posibil conflict de interese care îl vizează în special pe prim-ministrul ţării, Andrej Babis

The European Commission has suspended part of the agricultural aid to the Czech Republic due to potential conflicts of interest involving Prime Minister Andrej Babis. This suspension specifically targets the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, while direct payments from the Common Agricultural Policy remain unaffected. The Commission's spokesperson emphasized the need for Czech authorities to take appropriate measures to prevent conflicts of interest. Until such measures are implemented, the Czech authorities are instructed not to declare operational expenses related to cohesion funds involving entities linked to Babis. The situation follows a court ruling confirming the conviction of Czech MEP Jana Nagyova for fraud involving EU funds, which also implicates Babis.
