UE se împrumută tot mai scump. Curtea Europeană de Conturi: Dobânzile pentru pentru partea nerambursabilă a Mecanismului de Redresare și Reziliență ar putea ajunge la 93 de miliarde de euro

The European Court of Auditors warns that EU debt may reach around €1 trillion by 2027, with interest costs for the non-repayable part of NextGenerationEU potentially hitting €93 billion from 2028 to 2034. The rising financing costs are pressuring future EU budgets, as repayments for NGEU debt will start in 2028 and last until 2058. The EU's outstanding loans reached €738.9 billion at the end of 2025, up from €601.3 billion the previous year. The Court emphasizes the need for a comprehensive repayment strategy to address refinancing risks and interest rate fluctuations, as current financial conditions have significantly altered initial cost estimates for the NGEU program.
