UE propune interzicerea accesului la rețele sociale pentru copiii de sub 13 ani

The European Commission will propose the "KIDS ACT" to restrict social media access for users under 13 and personal accounts for those under 15. Ursula Von der Leyen announced this in her State of the Union address, emphasizing a gradual and differentiated approach to age-specific protections. From 13 to 15, only parent-supervised mini-accounts will be allowed, while platforms must ensure safety for users aged 15 to 18. Von der Leyen highlighted the need to combat addictive features and protect minors from harmful content, asserting that tech companies must prove their safety measures. A broader Digital Equity Law will also be proposed this fall.
