UE pregătește restricții de călătorie pentru cetățenii ruși, pentru a preveni atacurile hibride
The European Commission is tightening visa rules for Russian citizens visiting the EU, following requests from Poland, Sweden, and Estonia. New proposals are expected early next year, focusing on security concerns related to potential threats from Russian tourists, including former military personnel. In 2022, around 478,000 tourist visas were issued to Russians, many allowing multiple entries. Swedish Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer highlighted vulnerabilities in the current system, urging for quicker action from the Commission. Estonia has suggested a complete ban on access for former Russian military members. The issue will be discussed at an upcoming EU Foreign Ministers' meeting.
