However, since drivers can ignore or disable ISA notifications, the EU is exploring a system that would automatically reduce engine power when speed limits are exceeded. This proposal, still in the exploratory phase, could represent a significant reform in automotive safety. While organizations support the initiative, concerns about the reliability of current ISA systems persist, as they may misread speed limit signs, potentially leading to dangerous situations. Discussions on this proposal are ongoing, with potential implementation by 2030.
