UE pregătește cele mai ample sancțiuni împotriva Rusiei de la începutul războiului

The EU plans to significantly expand sanctions against Russia in response to the Ukraine war, according to EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas. She stated that existing sanctions have already cost Russia over €1 trillion. The upcoming measures are expected to increase the number of sanctioned Russian entities and individuals by about one-third. The new sanctions will focus on Russia's military-industrial complex and may include travel bans and asset freezes. A new list targeting around 1,600 individuals and entities is set to be presented to EU member states in early September, with the goal of adoption in October. Additionally, further sanctions related to human rights violations and hybrid activities attributed to Russia are planned for the fall.
