UE mobilizează forțe pentru incendiile din Serbia. România, printre țările care trimit ajutor
Romania is participating in the European operation to support Serbia, where wildfires have affected over 3,500 hectares. Romanian helicopters and ground teams were deployed following the activation of the EU civil protection mechanism. Serbia requested European assistance on August 21 due to worsening fires. The EU mobilized four helicopters and ground teams from Germany and Romania to assist Serbian forces. A liaison officer was sent to facilitate cooperation among authorities. The Copernicus emergency service has been providing satellite images for assessing the situation. The fires are exacerbated by strong winds and difficult weather conditions, threatening a key natural area in Serbia.
