UE își construiește propriul Starlink și își reduce dependența de SUA

Major European telecom operators Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Vodafone, and Telefónica are in preliminary talks to form a consortium for a satellite spectrum auction. The aim is to provide direct mobile-to-satellite connectivity through the European IRIS² system. This initiative is part of the EU's strategy to enhance its own space capabilities and reduce reliance on external companies like Starlink. The project is still in its early stages, with no final decisions made yet. If successful, the consortium could become a key player in the commercial use of this satellite infrastructure, which aims to improve connectivity in remote areas.
