The European Union has classified ChatGPT, Reddit, and Roblox under strict surveillance due to their significant user impact, requiring compliance with new obligations. ChatGPT is designated as a Very Large Online Search Engine, while Reddit and Roblox are categorized as Very Large Online Platforms, all exceeding 45 million monthly active users in the EU. They have four months to meet additional requirements, including annual risk assessments and independent audits. This decision increases the number of platforms under the strictest DSA level to 28, amid ongoing tensions between the EU and U.S. regarding tech regulation.
