UE ia în calcul organizarea unui summit la Roma în 2027, înaintea alegerilor din Italia
The European Union is planning a summit of European leaders in Rome in March 2027, ahead of Italy's parliamentary elections. This meeting aims to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome signed in 1957. An EU official confirmed that preparations are underway, which could politically benefit Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni by increasing international attention before the elections. Holding the summit in Rome is unusual, as Council meetings typically occur in Brussels, and any change in location requires unanimous agreement from member states. Leaders previously met in Rome in March 2017 for a similar anniversary, but that was not an official Council summit.
