A new strategy presented by the European Commission focuses on enhancing the economic development and geopolitical significance of these territories. The nine regions, belonging to France, Portugal, and Spain, are recognized for their potential in trade, connectivity, maritime security, and energy. The strategy includes measures for agriculture, fishing, energy, and healthcare, while also proposing adaptations of EU rules to better fit their unique circumstances. The goal is to ensure these regions benefit more from EU membership and to utilize their strategic advantages for the Union's overall benefit.
