UE dă undă verde taxării „superprofiturilor” din energie. Dezbaterea ajunge la masa ECOFIN

The European Commission supports member states' rights to tax exceptional profits of energy companies, as discussions on a common framework are set to take place at ECOFIN. Six member states have requested a unified approach to taxing these profits, citing the need for a similar mechanism to that used during the 2022 energy crisis. The debate in the European Parliament highlighted the significant profits made by major oil companies and the necessity for a coordinated tax response. The Commission is prepared to assist member states in implementing such measures while monitoring energy prices and their impact on the market. No new mandatory EU contribution has been announced yet.
