As defense costs for Ukraine rise, discussions are ongoing to find a solution that could be more acceptable to Belgium. Sweden has also called for renewed debate on the issue. Supporters believe utilizing these assets could alleviate some financial burdens without additional state budget allocations. However, officials warn that consensus on any new proposal remains elusive, and Belgium's position has not changed. One discussed option involves transferring Russian assets to a separate European entity, which could provide legal protections for Belgium and Euroclear.
