UE avertizează FIFA: proiectul privind investitorii privați riscă să afecteze viitorul fotbalului • Newsweek România

The European Union has strongly criticized FIFA's plan to allow private investors, warning that uncontrolled commercialization could harm football's future. EU Commissioner Glenn Micallef emphasized that the commercialization of football is becoming detrimental and threatens the sport's core elements. FIFA's proposal involves creating a commercial entity to attract private investment, potentially raising $4.2 billion for 20% of its capital. UEFA and CONCACAF have also expressed concerns, urging national federations to consult stakeholders before taking a stance. Micallef concluded that commercial success should enhance football, not undermine it.
