UE aprobă 6,1 mld. euro pentru rachete Patriot în Ucraina
The European Commission has approved a new tranche of €6.1 billion for Ukraine's defense, part of a €90 billion loan. These funds can be used for purchasing PAC-3 interceptors for Patriot systems, crucial for intercepting ballistic missiles. Ursula von der Leyen emphasized the importance of this support for Ukraine's air defense against Russian attacks. However, due to a global shortage of interceptors, Ukraine will not receive them immediately. The EU has now authorized a total of €28.3 billion for Ukraine's defense this year, with €8.4 billion already disbursed and €4.7 billion pending. The funds will be released upon verification of expenses by Ukraine.
