UE aplică o amendă record platformei AliExpress pentru comercializarea de produse contrafăcute
The European Union has fined AliExpress €550 million for failing to prevent the sale of illegal and counterfeit products. The European Commission claims that the platform did not adequately protect consumers and allowed sellers of illegal goods to continue operating. Insufficient staff for product verification and the promotion of illegal items by algorithms were also highlighted. AliExpress has until October 20 to submit a remediation plan, or it may face daily financial penalties. This fine is the largest under the Digital Services Act, which imposes strict obligations on digital platforms.
