This decision followed Kelemen Hunor's statements about excluding collaboration with extremist parties. All 16 UDMR deputies present supported the vote, which was part of a political alliance with PNL and USR backing Siegfried Mureșan for prime minister. PSD and AUR's collaboration led to the redistribution of leadership roles, prompting USR and PNL to challenge the vote at the Constitutional Court. PSD defended the process as legitimate, while USR highlighted their reduced representation in the new leadership structure.
