Ukraine inaugurated its first honorary consulate in Romania, located in Apahida near Cluj-Napoca, to support the local Ukrainian community. Consul Vasile Ruscovan noted that around 50,000 Ukrainians reside in the northwest region of Romania, with significant populations in Cluj and Maramureș. The opening ceremony was attended by various officials, including Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister Oleksandr Mischenko, who expressed gratitude to Romania for providing refuge to Ukrainians. The event included the national anthems of both countries and a moment of silence for those lost in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
