Ukrainian forces have repurposed Soviet BTR-60 armored vehicles into kamikaze drones, successfully using them in offensive operations. These remote-controlled vehicles were deployed to breach enemy defenses, causing significant damage to Russian command posts. The operation, named "Vivaldi," resulted in the recapture of 176 square kilometers of territory. Romania possesses around 500 BTR-60 units, which were manufactured under license as TAB-71. The use of outdated armored vehicles as drones has been seen before, with similar tactics employed by Russian forces.
