The Association of Prosumers and Energy Communities is advocating for a zero VAT rate on photovoltaic systems and storage batteries in Romania, inspired by Germany's model. This proposal aims to enhance energy production and storage, targeting individuals, NGOs, schools, and eligible SMEs. The initiative could lead to the installation of around 96,000 new photovoltaic systems annually, generating significant private investments. The association argues that this measure would alleviate pressure on the energy grid, especially during peak consumption times, and is based on recent EU legislation allowing reduced VAT rates for certain goods. The proposal will be presented to Parliament in the upcoming session.
