In the first half of the year, Romania recorded 5.556 million tourist arrivals, a 4.1% decrease compared to 2025. Romanian tourists accounted for 78.6% of arrivals, while foreign tourists made up 21.4%. Overnight stays totaled 10.804 million, down 6.7% from the same period in 2025. The average stay was 1.9 days for Romanians and 2.1 days for foreigners. The net occupancy rate for accommodation facilities was 22.8%, a decline of 2.9 percentage points from 2025. Bucharest, Brașov, and Constanța saw the highest tourist arrivals, with Germany, Italy, and the USA being the top sources of foreign tourists.
