The Turkish company MAPA Insaat, responsible for the construction of a section of the Sibiu-Pitești highway, was fined 40,000 lei for polluting the Olt River with wastewater from its construction site. Inspections revealed inadequate water filtration and a dirty decanter at the concrete station, indicating operational failures. The violations were discovered following a complaint and inspections conducted in early September.
