The Turkish Coast Guard has informed ships heading to Novorossiisk that transit permits are currently not being issued, impacting the number of vessels entering the Black Sea. This measure comes after drone attacks injured crew members of Turkish-owned ships. The Turkish Foreign Ministry has called for urgent safety measures for navigation in the Black Sea, warning of negative consequences, including on food security. The restrictions may also affect trade with Ukraine and contribute to rising global commodity prices.
