Turkey is enhancing its naval capabilities in the Black Sea with the upcoming launch of its first indigenous aircraft carrier, MUGEM, scheduled for September 27, 2027. This 60,000-ton vessel will integrate manned fighter jets, unmanned aerial combat vehicles, and autonomous maritime systems. Construction is ongoing in Istanbul, with operational deployment expected by 2032. MUGEM will feature advanced launch systems and accommodate various aircraft, including Hürjet and Bayraktar Kızılelma. The project began in 2023 and is designed to support a crew of up to 2,500 personnel.
