The Margina-Holdea highway section's tunnels have been fully pierced, marking a significant milestone in the project. The longest highway tunnel in Romania, Tunnel 2, was completed after two years of continuous work. The project is over 75% complete, with ongoing work on final concrete lining and safety installations. The section is expected to open in the first half of next year, allowing uninterrupted travel between Boița and Nădlac, covering over 360 kilometers. This completion will finally connect Sibiu to Nădlac without interruptions after a decade of delays.
