Rescue teams located Purja's body at approximately 5,700 meters. The climbing community, especially in Nepal, mourns the loss, with condolences from notable figures. Purja was known for breaking multiple climbing records and had recently aimed to summit all 14 peaks over 8,000 meters twice without supplemental oxygen.
