New PESA trains intended for routes including Brașov are currently unused due to contractual issues with maintenance infrastructure. The Romanian Ministry of Transport has reached an agreement with PESA to pay 95% of the train value while retaining 5% until maintenance facilities are established. Minister Radu Miruță expressed frustration over the situation, highlighting the contrast between unused modern trains and outdated ones still in service. PESA plans to temporarily conduct maintenance in a rented facility while working to fulfill contractual obligations regarding maintenance infrastructure.
