Trenul internațional „România” a rămas blocat pe podul Giurgiu-Ruse

The international train IRN 461 "Romania" was stranded on the railway bridge between Giurgiu and Ruse due to a technical failure of the locomotive. The train had already crossed into Bulgaria when it could no longer proceed. A team of specialists was dispatched to diagnose the issue and restore the train's operation. There is currently no official estimate for repair duration or delay times. Authorities confirmed that passengers are safe, and CFR S.A. is in contact with Bulgarian officials to monitor the situation. The train service, which resumed in June 2026, offers direct connections between Bucharest and destinations in Bulgaria and Turkey.
