Romanian Defense Minister Radu Miruță announced three significant milestones regarding the downing of two drones by military pilots. The drones were intercepted within minutes of entering Romanian airspace, marking a first for the military. This operation showcased improved predictive capabilities, allowing fighter jets to be positioned effectively. Additionally, these drones were the first turbo-propeller models downed in Romania, flying at speeds up to 450 km/h, likely of Russian origin. Since 2026, six drones have been downed in national airspace, with 44 others neutralized.
