Trei olimpici, de 16 ani, din Oradea, premiați de Eurostat la Competiția Europeană de Statistică

Three 16-year-old students from Oradea won third place at the European Statistics Competition organized by Eurostat, presenting a project that challenged stereotypes about Romanians. Their project, "Romania Revealed: The Story Beyond Stereotypes," highlighted statistical realities that contradict common prejudices. The team, consisting of Rareș Bogdan Hodăian, Eduard Hoti, and Bogdan Ștefan Silaghi, previously won first place at the National Statistics Olympiad. They used Eurostat data to show that Romania has lower crime rates than the EU average and that many students from rural areas struggle to complete their studies due to financial difficulties. Their findings also indicated a strong interest in technology and digitalization among Romanians, countering the stereotype of technological backwardness. Bogdan Silaghi expressed his passion for mathematics and informatics, considering a future in IT.
