Trei luni în plus la muncă, aceeași distanță de prosperitate. Capcana orelor lucrate în România

Romania has one of the longest working hours in Europe, with employees working an average of 1,826 hours annually, significantly more than their German counterparts. Despite the high number of hours worked, the economic output remains low, raising questions about productivity. Most Romanian workers are engaged in full-time positions, with 75.5% working between 40 and 44.5 hours weekly. This contrasts with other EU countries where part-time work is more common. Interestingly, salaried employees in Romania work more hours than self-employed individuals, which is atypical in Europe. The data suggests that working longer hours does not correlate with higher prosperity, as countries with shorter workweeks tend to be more affluent.
