The Federation of Romanian Transport Operators (FORT) urges Parliament to amend a law regarding fuel price controls, emphasizing the need for real regulation of profit margins. FORT's president, Beniamin Lucescu, highlighted that current legislation allows fuel distributors to set prices without limits. The organization also called for an investigation into fuel pricing and transparency in the market, noting that while oil prices have decreased, fuel prices in Romania remain historically high, impacting the economy. The Ministry of Finance announced a temporary reduction in fuel excise to alleviate pressure on consumers.
