Transporters in Romania are warning of potential fines related to the TollRo system, which is not functioning properly. COTAR is urging Parliament to delay penalties and the fixed fee until the system is fully operational. The National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) announced that TollRo will be implemented by October 1, 2026, after testing began on September 15. COTAR highlights that the necessary applications are not yet capable of accurately processing routes or payments, putting transporters at risk of fines for non-compliance. They are calling for urgent legislative action to protect transporters during this transitional period, as the system is still in pilot phase and not ready for full implementation.
