The implementation of the TollRo system may increase internal transport costs by up to 8%, according to the National Union of Road Transporters in Romania (UNTRR). They emphasize the need for these costs to be immediately reflected in transport tariffs, especially during significant fluctuations in diesel prices. UNTRR calls for legislative solutions to ensure fair tax payments and avoid penalties for operators due to system inaccuracies. Tests have revealed tariff discrepancies and operational challenges, prompting UNTRR to request a temporary suspension of a fixed fee of 2,000 lei until the system is reliable. The TollRo system is set to be operational from October 1, 2026, but UNTRR argues for further testing and resolution of existing issues before its full implementation.
