Transgaz aims to become a shareholder in the American company Argent LNG, which is developing a liquefied natural gas export terminal in Louisiana. A memorandum of understanding has been signed to explore investment terms. This move reflects Transgaz's strategic interest in securing long-term access to U.S. LNG supplies and diversifying Romania's gas sources. The investment will facilitate the transit of LNG from the U.S. through Romania to Moldova and Ukraine, and subsequently to Hungary, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Germany. This initiative supports energy security in Romania and the broader region.
