Transgaz aims to become a shareholder in the American company Argent LNG, which is developing a liquefied natural gas export terminal in Louisiana. The Memorandum of Understanding allows both parties to negotiate investment terms. This investment is strategic for Transgaz, ensuring long-term access to LNG supplies from the U.S. and facilitating gas transit through Romania to Moldova and Ukraine, and further to Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Germany. The initiative supports Romania's energy security and diversifies its gas supply sources, reducing dependence on Russian gas.
