Transelectrica: Românii și-au redus consumul de energie cu aproximativ 300 MW față de cel prognozat, în orele de vârf

The government is urging citizens and businesses to voluntarily reduce energy use. Transelectrica reported that actual consumption has consistently been lower than forecasts since August 1, when the alert was declared due to reduced nuclear and hydroelectric production. The severe drought is impacting the national energy system, necessitating continued voluntary reductions for stability. Increased temperatures have led to higher consumption in recent days, particularly in Bucharest, which accounts for over 15% of total consumption.
