Transelectrica is modernizing the Alba Iulia substation, marking the launch of Romania's first digital station with a €90.44 million investment. This project, part of the DigiTEL program, aims to enhance the national electricity transport network's safety and resilience through advanced technologies. The contract, valued at 476.07 million lei, includes significant non-reimbursable funding and is set for completion by May 2030. The modernization will incorporate a Digital Twin, private cloud infrastructure, and satellite data for real-time monitoring, alongside green energy solutions.
