Transelectrica has launched a pilot project for the modernization of the Alba Iulia substation into a digital station, marking a significant investment in the national electricity transport network. The project, part of the DigiTEL program, aims to integrate energy infrastructure with digital systems, enhancing operational efficiency and cybersecurity. The contract, valued at approximately 90.44 million euros, includes a non-reimbursable funding of over 228 million lei. The project will take 44 months to complete, with a focus on creating a model for future digital substations. A Digital Laboratory will facilitate collaboration between academia and industry, ensuring the integration of advanced technologies and training for specialists.
