Former President Traian Băsescu criticized interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan's proposal for a government composed solely of technocrats, arguing it complicates the political crisis. Băsescu questioned the selection criteria for ministers and Bolojan's approach to economic issues. Bolojan insists on a team of "true technocrats" without political ties, differing from the previous Cioloș government model. Băsescu warned that Bolojan's criteria could lead to disastrous economic outcomes, emphasizing that if the specialists are of Bolojan's caliber, it would be worse than the Cioloș government. He described Bolojan's budget cuts as brutal and lacking understanding of economic complexities.
