A priest in Ecuador died during a live-streamed service when a heavy wooden cross fell on him. The incident occurred suddenly, leaving no time for intervention. Father Patricio Alfredo Sánchez Molinari was leading the mass at Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro in Guayaquil when the cross detached from the wall and struck him. Despite immediate assistance from parishioners, he could not be saved. The Archdiocese of Guayaquil confirmed his death and expressed condolences to his family and congregation. The cause of the cross's detachment remains unknown.
