Only 26% of Romanians feel financially secure enough to pay their bills and save or spend money, a decrease from last year. In contrast, Central and Eastern Europe saw an increase in financial comfort. The number of families struggling to pay bills has risen to 10.8%. Economic adjustments, high inflation, and stagnant incomes have reduced purchasing power, leading to more cautious consumer behavior. Despite financial constraints, 60% of Romanians aim to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, while 53% plan to cut processed foods. Concerns about food safety and medical costs remain high, with 69% worried about healthcare expenses. The study reflects responses from over 21,000 participants across 27 countries, including 707 from Romania.
