The number of Moldovan students choosing to study in Romania has decreased due to improved conditions in Moldovan schools. Digitalization and better facilities, including hot meal programs, are attracting students. For the 2026-2027 school year, only 376 applications were submitted nationally, down from 470 the previous year, with around 70 unfilled spots in Iași. The Iași School Inspectorate notes a continuous decline in students coming to Romania for education.
