Tot mai mulți români își retrag banii din Pilonul 2: plățile au crescut cu peste 50 la sută

Payments from the second pension pillar in Romania have increased by over 50% compared to last year, as more individuals reach retirement age and request their accumulated funds. In the first half of 2026, 42,229 participants received payments, a rise of approximately 54.6% from the previous year. The increase reflects the maturation of the pension system and demographic changes. The contribution rate to the second pillar rose to 4.75% in January 2024, while total assets reached 246.20 billion lei, marking a 39% increase. Most beneficiaries still prefer a lump-sum payment, although the percentage has decreased. A new law will allow a one-time payment of up to 30% of the transferred amount, effective in 2027, but implementation may be delayed.
