The Romanian government has approved new hiring positions for hospitals in 2026, with major centers receiving hundreds of posts while many smaller facilities get none or just one. A total of 2,593 positions for nurses and 2,567 for auxiliary medical staff have been unlocked, following a strike by hospital employees. The initial proposal aimed to release over 7,800 vacant positions, primarily for doctors and nurses.
