TollRo will be operational in Romania starting October 1, 2026, changing the way road taxes are paid. For vehicles over 3.5 tons, fees will depend on distance traveled and EURO class. The system will manage new road tickets and vignettes, with testing completed recently. Transporters will have two payment options: pre-purchased route tickets or distance-based fees recorded via the TollRo app. Existing vignettes remain valid until their expiration date, while the old sales system will cease on September 30, 2026. An additional phase will start on January 15, 2027, allowing payments through electronic toll service providers with EU interoperability.
