Experts from the European Commission and member states met to discuss electricity supply security amid heatwaves affecting regions like Romania and Hungary. Although short-term supply risks were ruled out, tensions are expected to persist due to reduced production. Hungary's voluntary demand reduction measures were highlighted as effective, while Romania's similar appeal yielded no results. The group also prepared for the solar eclipse's impact on energy production, emphasizing the importance of cross-border coordination and energy storage development. The European Commission will continue monitoring the situation closely.
