Tineretul social-democrat din Botoșani a organizat un concurs de pescuit, încheiat cu artificii, într-o arie protejată. „Nu suferă natura că au aruncat câteva bețe în baltă”, spune primarul
The Social Democratic Youth of Botoșani organized a fishing contest in a protected area, which ended with fireworks. Over 100 participants attended the event near the Prut River, despite it violating several regulations regarding protected sites. The local mayor defended the organizers, claiming nature was not harmed. The event took place in a bird protection area, and participants did not obtain necessary approvals from environmental authorities. Organizers later claimed they were not in the protected area, despite evidence to the contrary. The event included camping, fishing, and a party, which contradicted rules against noise in the protected site. The president of TSD Botoșani downplayed the violations, asserting they did nothing wrong and attributing the fireworks to unrelated individuals celebrating nearby.
