TikTok riscă amenzi uriașe, în urma anchetei declanșate după alegerilor din România, din 2024

TikTok faces potential fines of up to 6% of its global revenue due to an investigation linked to the 2024 Romanian elections. The European Commission initiated this inquiry under the Digital Services Act (DSA) following reports of misinformation campaigns on the platform. Thomas Regnier, a spokesperson for the Commission, highlighted that Romania serves as a case study for examining digital interference in elections. The investigation aims to ensure election outcomes reflect citizens' choices without external influence from tech executives. TikTok has been asked to provide substantial evidence regarding its operations during the electoral process.
